Prof. Weale has over 30 years’ experience as an Expert Witness with his first case taking place before the ICC Tribunal in Stockholm in 1989. His cases have mainly concerned price/contract disputes in long-term gas contracts, but he also covers other energy contract disputes. Clients value Prof. Weale’s very strong analytical skills and his robust performance during cross-examinations.

His main areas of expertise relevant for arbitration cases are:

  • Pricing practices for different forms of energy from cost to value-based
  • Determination of a fuel’s market value
  • Analysis of changes in energy market shares.
